Artist Bio
Ginnie has combined her love of gardening and her ability in watercolor to create lustrous florals that seem to glow from within. Often painting flowers grown in her gardens, she uses transparent glazes to create the depth and luminosity that are the hallmark of her work. She exhibits in galleries, invitational shows, and outdoor art festivals.
Her longtime hobby of showing dogs trained her eye and led into creating commissioned pet portraits. Painting pets and animals quickly translated into painting people.
Ginnie has served on the boards of the Associated Artists of Winston Salem and the Foothills Arts Council in Elkin. She teaches watercolor and acrylic paintig at Forsythe Tech CC,and holds other classes and workshops in the area. Sharing her passion for watercolors and acrylics, she finds she learns as much from her students as she im parts.
She has served on the boards of several art organizations in Delaware and Pennsylvania before moving to Winston Salem, She developed and for three years directed of the Spirit of Art Festival, a highly acclaimed national outdoor art festival held in Wilmington, DE. In Winston she has organized a group of fellow artists who hold sales from time to time under the name of Artistic Synergy.
