More About Winston Salem, North Carolina
Old Salem is one of the most authentic and well documented Colonial sites in America. The living historical museum is in an outdoor town setting. Costumed guides recreate common Salem household activities and trades of the 18th and 19th centuries, focusing especially on the Moravian culture. There are numerous museum shops on the site that are representative of the area.

Shopping The largest mall in the Carolina’s is in Winston-Salem. The Hanes Mall, houses a variety of stores that accommodates the desire of most shoppers. Hanes Mall has Over 200 shops, five department stores and a large food court.
Major Attractions Tanglewood Festival of Lights is the largest and most magnificent drive through the lighting display show in the Southeast. The festival of lights starts in November and lasts for almost two months and features a million lights and over 75 animated displays.
The Stevens Center is a magnificently restored Neoclassical theatre that was originally a 1929 silent movie theatre. It is now the performance space for the North Carolina School of the Arts, where a wide variety of events, concerts, and performances are held.
